Q1. Who is eligible to apply for Epoch School?
Those who wish to develop innovation and entrepreneurial spirit: those who enjoy creating something from nothing as "Young Entrepreneurs of the Future", or those who love maximizing from 1 to N as "International Professionals Interns". The program is open to students and graduate students aged 19-24, at least in their second year of university.
Q2. How many recommendation letters are required? Should they be in Chinese or English? Is there a format requirement?
A maximum of two recommendation letters, in Chinese or English, are accepted. No specific format is required, but the recommender must sign the letter.
The recommender should be someone who knows your academic or work performance well, such as a professor or supervisor. If none are available, past Epoch School alums, current interns, or entrepreneur trainees can be invited to recommend you.
Note: Family members cannot be recommenders.
Q3. How do I submit the recommendation letters?
Applicants must first complete the application form. After applying, the system will email the recommendation letter upload link to the recommender. The recommender must upload the letter before the application deadline.
Q4. After submitting the application online, do I need to mail any documents or certificates?
All forms and documents are completed online; there is no need to mail any physical documents.
If you are applying for the "Young Entrepreneur of the Future" scholarship as a low-income student, you will need to mail relevant proof after completing the online application. The list of required documents can be downloaded from the registration webpage.
Q5. What level of English proficiency is required? What if I don't have proof of it?
Communicating and reading in English will help you seize opportunities and broaden your horizons. As long as you can express yourself well and have a point of view, you can communicate effectively, regardless of your accent and grammar. If you do not have an English proficiency score, please provide your most recent school year's English grades.
Q6. Is there a fee for participating in the training after being admitted?
From the time of admission to the overseas visits, the entire process is free!
If you are selected as a student delegate for the overseas visit, you will need to pay a deposit of NT$10,000 before the trip. This deposit will be fully refunded after you return and fulfill the responsibility of sharing your experience at the recruitment stage from September to December.
Q7. How long does the training last?
The "Young Entrepreneurs of the Future" program runs from January to July. If selected as an overseas visit delegate, the program lasts until the following January.
The "International Professionals Internship" runs from February to the following February, regardless of whether you are selected as an overseas visit delegate.
Q8. What if my personal schedule conflicts with the Epoch School schedule?
The training resources and opportunities are carefully tailored for the trainees and interns. Be sure you can fully and actively participate before applying. Not only will you gain a lot from the training, but you will also build lifelong partnerships.
Q9. If the program conflicts with my class schedule, can I get proof to request leave from school?
The program sessions and activities are mainly scheduled for weekends (weekday sessions are held during summer break), so it won't affect your regular classes. If the overseas visit coincides with the start of school, Epoch School can provide a participation certificate to help you request leave from your school.
Q10. Is it true that the "International Professionals Internship" only requires two work shifts per week?
Interns can schedule two shifts per week, with the shifts being either from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM or from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. In addition to the work shifts, interns will participate in workshops, case studies and business pitches, cross-team project planning and execution. The more effort you put in, the more you will gain!
Q11. Do both programs offer the opportunity for an overseas visit?
Yes, both programs do! Those who register for the English interview in July will be eligible. The English interview is conducted entirely in English, and selection is based on your ability to express yourself and answer questions. Passing this interview grants you the "overseas visit" qualification.
Q12. What if I don't get selected as an overseas visit representative?
At Epoch School, you will still gain practical experience, broaden your horizons, make lifelong friends, and have the opportunity to join our global alum network - Epoch Family, all valuable gifts for yourself.
Additionally, after Pitch Day, "Young Entrepreneurs of the Future" can apply for the Starship Program at Garage+(
https://garageplus.asia/starship), an incubator run by the Epoch Foundation. "International Professionals Internship" is a year-long program, and regardless of whether you are a overseas visit delegate, you must complete the entire internship. Outstanding performers at Epoch School will be prioritized for internship recommendations to companies and startups.
Q13. When is the interview date for the "International Professionals Internship"? Can I interview online?
Applicants who pass the document review will receive an email notification to participate in the second-stage interview.
The 2025 interview date is Saturday, January 11th. Applicants must attendthe in-person interview. Those who do not participate in person will be considered to have forfeited their application.
Q14. Which universities have credit cooperation with Epoch School?
National Taiwan University, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, and Fu Jen Catholic University.
